Lymington and Pennington Town Council give platinum jubilee mugs to children and donates cash to Compass Counselling, Lymington Community Centre and the Rotary Club




YOUNGSTERS from Lymington and Pennington have been given platinum jubilee mugs as a memento of the Queen’s reign.

The town council teamed up with Lymington Community Centre and the Rotary Club to present almost 2,000 mugs to every child in local nurseries, infant and junior schools.

Three Lymington charities are also celebrating sharing a nearly £6,000 donation from money raised by a raffle at the Picnic in the Park at Woodside.

The groups to benefit were Lymington Community Centre, the Rotary Club of Lymington and Compass Counselling.

Compass is the mayor’s charity this year, and works to provide high quality counselling to people in the New Forest.

Mayor Cllr James Hoare presented a cheque for £1,982.98 to Compass’s chief executive, David Lewis, at Compass House in Gosport Street, Lymington.

Mr Lewis said: “These funds will enable us to offer low-cost counselling to our community and we are grateful to be acknowledged by the mayor.”
