Bee Hive buzzes in at Moors Valley Country Park
A NEW bee-themed play area at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest is set to get kids buzzing.
Called the Bee Hive, it is designed to help children connect to nature and understand more about the vital role of bees.
Youngsters can play at helping bees collect pollen, learn about how a bee colony works, explore different hives and a whole range of puzzles.
It was designed by Andy Frost Design which built the original play trail 35 years ago.
It was praised by Forestry England ranger Natasha Crabb who said: “There is so much to do in it whilst at the same time learning about just how important these creatures are to nature and in protecting our environment.”
There are sensory activities too so kids can hear and touch features, with braille helping to describe the experience.
There is also a double slide to allow carers and children use it together while ramps and level paths make the area fully accessible.
