Covid testing centre set up in Christchurch car park
A MOBILE Covid-19 testing centre has been set up in Christchurch in the Two Riversmeet leisure centre car park.
The facility is offering appointments which must be booked via the government’s national online portal. Access to the centre can be gained by car or foot, and it will operate two days a week.
Cllr Nicola Greene, BCP Council portfolio holder for Covid resilience and public health, said: “I am very pleased that local residents now have access to an increased number of Covid-19 testing sites.
“The opening of the two new mobile units in Christchurch and Poole will particularly benefit residents living in and around those areas who may have previously found it hard to access existing sites.”
The Christchurch centre will operate on a rotational basis with other sites in Dorset. Residents can also book a test at the Creekmoor facility in Poole.
No walk-up tests will be available. Anyone who believes they may have contracted Covid-19 should book a slot by visiting www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.
