New Forest District Council truck in fatal collision with cow




A NEW Forest District Council truck was involved in a fatal collision with a cow at Beaulieu.

The NFDC vehicle struck the animal close to the Dibden Purlieu cattle grid on the B3054 at Hilltop at around 1pm on Wednesday.

Agister Mike Lovell was called out and had to put down the animal because of the injuries it had suffered.

The NFDC vehicle was travelling towards Beaulieu at the time of the incident.

A spokesperson for the district council said: "Sadly one of our recycling vehicles was in a collision with a cow on the open forest this afternoon.

"The Agisters were informed immediately and attended the site of the accident. We are looking into the circumstances of the incident."
