Sway mum posts pictures of vandalism suspects caught on CCTV

A MOTHER who had a rock thrown through her kitchen window in Sway has posted pictures of the suspected culprits and an appeal for anyone who can identify them to come forward.

She was terrified after her window was smashed during a night of vandalism in the village – which has seen ongoing anti-social behaviour.

A gang of youths has been rampaging through Sway, smashing windows, terrorising residents and hurling abuse when confronted.

Police have stepped up patrols, but the mum says they have been unable to find those who threw stones at her home.

So she has posted images from CCTV which caught the youngsters as they attacked her home after unscrewing bulbs from outside lights.

She said: “A few weeks ago two or three delightful characters entered our garden in Sway, messed about in the woodland, and then smashed our kitchen window.

“We have them on CCTV. The police were called who came straight away, but unfortunately they have not been able to identify who these people are.

“The police have given me permission to share our CCTV images in the hope that someone may recognise them.”

The woman says she has now been given the names of two youths who may be the youngsters pictured.

One resident said: “That logo is so big, stop messing around. The tikes are laughing, as the family and friends know who it is.

“Get some guts and pull your stupid teenagers in order. If their family don't give a damn, there is no hope for them or the insular village who don't stand up.”

Another said: “Let's hope the parents will see this and rectify the situation.”

The woman has asked those who recognise the youths to contact the police.

As the A&T previously reported, residents fear a gang of teenagers from outside of Sway are catching the train into the village to wreak havoc.

A Neighbourhood Watch has been reinstated in the village, and a WhatsApp group formed to warn residents when trouble is happening.

Sway Parish Council have said they are “very worried” about the crime outbreak and are “in regular contact with the neighbourhood’s team at Hampshire police”.

It was also building up a team of “road champions” to support residents and share information.
