The Cloud Hotel at Brockenhurst goes on the market for £2.35m

A BROCKENHURST hotel has gone on the market with a guide price of £2.35m.

The Cloud Hotel is being advertised online by estate agent Savills – just months after it secured planning permission to downsize to become a bed-and-breakfast with tearooms.

Based at Meerut Road, the two-storey facility sits on a 0.274-acre site and boasts 17 bedrooms, a restaurant and communal areas.

The Savills advertisement adds: "Offers in the order of £2.35m for the freehold interest with vacant possession and the benefit of planning permission are invited.

"The hotel is clearly a seasonal business but despite this, occupancy rates are currently strong, trading at close to full occupancy.

"[This is] an opportunity for an enterprising owner or operator to improve the turnover and profitability of the business hotel in a prominent position in a renowned New Forest location."

As reported in the A&T in March, the national park authority greenlit the downsize proposal after documents submitted by owner Christopher Legg said the establishment was currently not a viable business but by scaling down it could keep going.

Under the scheme, parts of the existing art deco facility would also be reconfigured to create two cottages which can be sold on the open market, and a further two self-contained holiday let cottages. It added the B&B element would have seven bedrooms.
