Yorkshire man Philip Stainburn banned after drink-driving Audi TT in Lymington while in possession of a knife




A YORKSHIRE man who was caught drink driving a sports car in Lymington also had a knife on him, a court heard.

Philip Stainburn (56) of Hobson Way, Holbury in Selby, North Yorkshire admitted the offences before Southampton magistrates.

He pleaded guilty to drink driving in an Audi TT in High Street on May 10th, and indicated a guilty plea to being found in possession of a lock knife.

Stainburn was banned from the roads for 18 months, fined £692, and was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 court surcharge.

He was also ordered to undertake weekly, non-residential alcohol addiction treatment sessions as part of a program called ‘Change, Grow, Live’ for six months.

Magistrates also ordered him to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities, as well as the forfeiture and destruction of the knife.
