AN ELDERLY man is due to appear in court charged in connection with a collision that resulted in the death of a 73-year-old pedestrian in Highcliffe.
Local woman Helen Gilliver died in hospital following the incident involving a red Honda Jazz, which took place on Wharncliffe Road, near its junction with the A337 Lymington Road, shortly before 10.30am on Friday 10th July 2020.
As reported in the A&T, paramedics and police responded and the pensioner was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital where she died from her injuries.
The road was closed for over five-and-a-half hours while emergency crews worked at the scene and officers launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.

Morrell, of Royal Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire, is due to face the charge at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 11th June.
