Police and NFDC net Boldre flytipper who dumped discarded fish heads from car

A DRIVER has been fined £400 for dumping fish heads from their car in the New Forest.

Fordingbridge police officers helped a New Forest District Council enforcement team in Boldre last Thursday to tracked down the person responsible.

The fish heads and “other detritus” were reportedly dumped in late October, but NFDC would not reveal the exact location in Boldre to “protect the informant”.

Once the vehicle was identified, the owner paid a £400 fine to avoid it being seized. They were also warned over parking across a dropped kerb.

An NFDC spokesperson said: “We work closely with the police and other agencies and, where evidence is available, pursue offenders and issue fines, and where the crime is of sufficient gravity take offenders to court.

“In this instance, the offender discharged their liability for the offence by paying a £400 fixed penalty notice.

“We would like to thank Hampshire police in assisting our staff in dealing with this incident.”
