A DRIVER was hurt after a car transporter jack-knifed and plunged down a bank off the A31 near Cadnam.

Paramedics and police responded to the incident involving an Altmann truck, which had landed on its side off the eastbound carriageway at Castle Malwood Hill around 10.15am on Wednesday.

The driver, a 59-year-old man, suffered minor injuries, according to a force spokesperson. No vehicles were being carried by the transporter at the time of the crash.

The truck was still down the bank on Wednesday afternoon, and a Twitter post by recovery firm RD Avery said the carriageway would be closed between Ringwood and the M27 junction 1 that evening for its removal.
