Police release shocking images of car crash with lorry on Bury Road in Marchwood

Shocking pictures of the aftermath of a head-on smash between a car and a lorry on a Marchwood road have been released by police.

No injuries were reported from the crash, which involved a Royal Mail lorry, but the car’s 20-year-old local driver was reported at the scene for dangerous driving and having no insurance.

It happened on Bury Road around 9pm last Tuesday, and an online post was shared by Waterside officers afterwards to highlight the importance of road safety.

“This young driver is very lucky to have escaped without injury.

“It is stated by witnesses that the incident was caused by excessive speed resulting in the driver losing control and hitting the front of the lorry and crashing into the side of the road.”
