Lymington motorist Claire Lowe banned for three years at Southampton Magistrates’ Court after hitting elderly pedestrian




A Lymington driver who badly injured an elderly pedestrian has been banned from the roads for three years.

Claire Lowe (61), of Meadowlands, committed the offence in the town on 24th August 2023, and was recently found guilty at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.

As reported by the A&T, paramedics and police responded to the incident involving a Vauxhall Astra, which took place around 4pm on the corner of Highfield and Rowans Park.

The casualty, a local woman in her 80s, was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment of a serious leg injury.

She was found guilty of one count of causing serious injury by careless / inconsiderate driving without due care and attention.

In addition to the ban, Lowe must take an extended test before her licence is returned. She was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and pay court charges of £734.
