Firefighters free driver after car ploughs into hedge at Tesco car park in Caird Avenue, New Milton
A MOTORIST had to be freed by firefighters after a car ploughed into a hedge in a New Milton supermarket car park.
Local fire crews responded along with colleagues from Dorset to the collision which took place outside the Tesco store in Caird Avenue shortly after 3.30pm yesterday (Tuesday).
Having got the female casualty out of the vehicle, they provided treatment before passing her into the care of paramedics. Police also attended.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire force said no injuries had been reported, although the ambulance was still at the scene more than an hour later.
A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews were called to a supermarket car park in Caird Avenue, New Milton, at 15.37 after a car left the road and went into thick undergrowth.
“One driver was released and given immediate emergency care by firefighters before she was handed over to South Central Ambulance Service.”
