Police arrest New Milton man over class B drugs imported into country
POLICE arrested a New Milton man in connection with a stash of class B drugs imported into the country.
Acting on intelligence from Border Force, officers searched a home in Pennywell Gardens last Tuesday evening.
They seized further amounts of class B substances and drug-related gear.
The 33-year-old man was detained on suspicion of improper importation of goods and possessing a class B drug with intent to supply.
He was later released under investigation pending further police enquiries.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire force said: “We received a report from our colleagues at Border Force in relation to a suspicious package containing a class B drug which had been seized in late October last year.
“The package was due to be delivered to an address in New Milton.
“Officers had been carrying out enquiries since and resulted in them conducting a search of a residential property on Pennywell Gardens on Tuesday evening (17th January).
“Further quantities of class B drugs were located and seized, alongside drug-related paraphernalia.”
