Eggheads’ Kevin Ashman joins charity quiz at Housemartin Pub in New Milton
EGGHEADS super quizzer Kevin Ashman joined teams for a charity quiz at the Housemartin Pub in New Milton.
Widely hailed as one of the top quizzers in the world, Kevin took part in the special event to raise £710 for Honeypot Children’s Charity which runs a respite holiday home for young careers in the New Forest.
The quiz was hosted and written by New Milton quiz master Ian Woolley, who said: “Kevin Ashman joined teams for individual rounds during the night. Quite a few questions stumped him, he told me afterwards, but his favoured subject of history wasn't included – on purpose.”
Kevin, who lives near Winchester, is considered one of the greatest quizzers in the world and has been a professional qu
izzer since 2002; he has been an Egghead since 2003. He has won most of the top-level quiz tournaments in which he has taken part, among them several world and European championships.
He studied modern history at the University of Southampton and famously gave no incorrect answers to history questions on Eggheads for a decade.
Ian added: “The winning team gave their £50 prize money back to the charity.”
