General Election 2024: Hustings event for New Forest West candidates to be held at The Bridge in Milford




A HUSTINGS event will be held for New Forest West General Election candidates next week.

It will be held at The Bridge in Milford, and five candidates have so far confirmed their attendance.

Green Party’s Anna Collar, Reform UK’s Reginald Chester-Sterne, Liberal Democrats’ Jack Davies, Labour’s Dr Sally Johnston and Conservative Sir Desmond Swayne are set to discuss their aims if elected on 4th July.

Organiser Jonathan Ruddle said: “This will be the first time in this General Election that the candidates have come face-to-face to debate with each other.

“It is a great opportunity to see the candidates and to hear about their party’s main policies. You have the chance to ask them questions on the topics that affect you and our community the most.”

Questions can be submitted in advance to events@moscommunitycentre.org.uk and must be addressed to all candidates.

It will be held on Wednesday 26th June and run from 7pm to 9.30pm. Doors open 6.15pm.

A second hustings for New Forest West candidates has also been confirmed for St Mary’s Church in Brangsore on Friday 28th June at 7.30pm. Questions can be emailed in advance to events@newforestedgechurches.org.

As reported, hustings for New Forest East candidates will be held at St Luke's Church on Church Lane in Sway tomorrow (Wednesday), while Christchurch candidates will battle for votes at Godfirst Church on Airfield Road on Friday 28th June.
