THE emergency services had a busy few hours with a three-car crash on the A31 this morning and an abandoned car on fire near Sainsbury’s in Christchurch late last night.

Two people were hurt in the collision at Ringwood which caused rush-hour hold-ups this morning (Tuesday).

The incident involved a Honda Jazz, a Fiat 500 and a Kia Picanto, and took place on the eastbound carriageway shortly after 8.30am, blocking off two lanes on the off-slip for the A338.

Paramedics assessed both casualties at the scene for minor injuries, according to a spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service.

The spokesperson added: “Both were discharged to make their own way to an emergency department or minor injuries unit for further treatment.”

Meanwhile an investigation has been launched into a blaze which gutted an abandoned car in Christchurch last night (Monday).

Police believe the vehicle was deliberately set alight just after 10pm in Watery Lane, off the A35, near the Sainsbury’s supermarket. Local firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames.

Those with information should contact officers on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
