Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) accredited gardener Tom Maskell joining Fairweather’s Garden Centre in Beaulieu
AN expert gardener accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) said he is excited to be joining a New Forest business.
Fairweather’s Garden Centre in Beaulieu has appointed Tom Maskell as the new head gardener of its fruit, vegetable, and herb garden known as Patrick’s Patch.
Green-fingered Tom, who holds the RHS Master of Horticulture qualification, brings a “wealth of experience” to the role, the company said.
With a career spanning roles as head gardener at private estates, Tom was described as “well-versed” in organic growing, biodiversity and engaging the community.
His extensive experience in garden development, team leadership and education makes him the “perfect fit” to nurture Patrick’s Patch and support the garden centre’s “commitment to sustainability and excellence”.
As head gardener, Tom will oversee seasonal planting, maintenance and development of the garden, ensuring it remains productive and welcoming for gardening enthusiasts and visitors, including school children.
Fairweather’s owner Patrick Fairweather said: “We are thrilled to welcome Tom to the team.
“His expertise and vision will ensure Patrick’s Patch continues to flourish as a space where people can connect with nature, learn about sustainable growing and experience the joy of fresh, homegrown produce in Steff’s Kitchen.”
Tom added: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Patrick’s Patch. It’s a truly special place, and I look forward to working with the team and our visitors to grow something wonderful together.”
