LYMINGTON Town secured FA Vase progression despite not playing to their high standards after beating Hamble FC 2-0 at The Sports Ground on Saturday.

The south coast side scored eight goals in their previous Saturday fixture. However, the home side struggled to string much together, and Dom Falco’s opener came as a relief for the Lymington faithful. With five minutes remaining, Ryan Drake scored to put the game to bed.

Lymington were second-best for the majority of the first-half, but they found the back of the net on 25 minutes when a cross evaded everyone but Falco, who smashed the ball past Hamble’s man-mountain goalkeeper, Ellis Grant, at the back post.

Lymington improved after the break with second-half substitute Owen Fee causing the visitors many problems. Just before the hour mark, Hamble came within inches of scoring an equaliser when Jack Nicholas grazed the outside of the post with a left-footed strike.

With 85 minutes gone, Ryan Drake tapped in a cut-back to score his side’s second goal and book a place in the next round of the FA Vase.
