Oakhaven Family Fun Day raises record breaking £16,000
A FAMILY fun day held at Oakhaven hospice in Lymington attracted more than 1,500 people and helped to raise £16,000 – the highest amount on record for the annual event.
Pimms, bric a brac and flowers were all on offer, along with a whole host of games including splat the rat and a human fruit machine.
Visitors could also enjoy a donut wall, an inflatable course, silent auction, tombola, face painting, glitter tattoos and a grand raffle.
A pop-up clothes shop proved popular and helped boost the final amount raised on the day.
One of the favourite attractions, especially for small visitors, was the Miller’s Ark petting zoo.
Andrew Ryde, chief executive of Oakhaven Hospice, said: “The event is such a popular local event that really brings the community down to the hospice.
“It was great to see so many people here and the gardens so full of people enjoying themselves and supporting the hospice.”
All funds raised will go to support Oakhaven Hospice's free of charge services for patients and their loved ones, both in the hospice and in homes throughout the New Forest and Waterside.
