Family on paddleboards and kayak rescued from water at Mudeford Quay

PASSERS-BY sprang into action to rescue a family in the water at Mudeford Quay.

The alarm was raised around 3pm on Saturday, with reports four people had got into difficulty while using paddleboards and an inflatable kayak.

Members of the public had already recovered the quartet and their crafts when coastguard teams from Poole and Southbourne arrived on the scene.

A post on the Southbourne team’s Facebook page said they provided safety advice before returning to station.
