A DEVASTATED family has paid tribute to a “happy-go-lucky” mum-of-three from Totton who was killed in a crash in Southampton.

Kim Bainbridge (51), of Buckthorn Close, was the passenger in a BMW 3 series when the single-vehicle incident took place in Mountbatten Way on 30 June.

As reported in the A&T, the driver, a 32-year-old man also from Totton, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He has since been released from custody but remains under investigation.

In a statement released through Hampshire Police, Kim’s grieving relatives said: “Three boys have been left absolutely heartbroken following the tragic loss of their mother and her friends have been left distraught.

“Kim will always be remembered in the hearts of us all. She had a huge influence on many lives and she was a happy-go-lucky person, always cheering everyone up.

“She lived her life to the full and had nothing but love, kindness and humour in her heart and soul.”

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing.

Anyone with information should contact officers on 101, quoting incident reference number 44190226451, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
