Planning inspector grants permission for extension at Knap Barrow Farm, Tidpit, after decision is appealed

AN appeal to build a single-storey extension to a farmhouse in Tidpit has been allowed.

Crispin De Pass applied to develop the house at Knap Barrow Farm, but his application was refused by the local planning authority as it was felt it would have an impact on the Cranbourne Chase area of outstanding beauty.

However, a planning inspector ruled the development would not harmfully alter the existing character of the area and allowed the appeal.

He added it did not “appear a harmfully dominating feature in this setting” and that “as such it does not harmfully alter the largely undeveloped quality of this landscape”.
