Daniel Cossey of Matchams Lane fined at Southampton Magistrates’ Court for stealing guitar

A CHRISTCHURCH man who stole a £400 guitar was told by magistrates to pay out just over a quarter of its value.

Daniel Cossey (22), of Matchams Lane, admitted taking the instrument from a man in Southampton on 15th July 2023.

Fining him £80, the city’s Bench ordered Cossey be detained in default of payment, with his detention deemed served by time already spent in custody.

He was also told to pay a £32 surcharge towards victim support services.
