First-look images show marketplace-themed layout of New Milton's upcoming Marks & Spencer Foodhall
MARKS & Spencer has released first-look images of the neon-decorated internal layout of its long-awaited new Foodhall set to open in New Milton in April.
The store, which has taken over a Station Road unit previously occupied by the Co-op, will be one of the first in the country to boast an innovative design with a marketplace feel.
It is intended to deliver a bigger, better, and fresher experience than ever before for M&S shoppers, with the firm saying it marks a significant investment in the region.
The new store’s manager, Keith Caufield-Lawrence, said: “We’re really excited to be sharing a sneak peek of our new Foodhall design.
“It’s been great to hear from local customers how excited they are about the development of the store and our team can’t wait until April when we can share everything the new Foodhall has to offer."
Complete with vibrant neon signs and high-spec flooring throughout, the layout includes new fresh product displays of fruit and veg. A large in-store bakery will serve fresh bread and pastries all day.
There will also be an expanded M&S frozen food section and dedicated M&S Wine Shop.
The store will utilise modern shopping technology, with checkouts being complimented by a mobile Scan & Shop option available via the M&S App. This allows M&S Sparks customers to skip the queues.
Digital in-store screens will also be available with the aim of making it quicker and easier for customers making Click & Collect orders from M&S.com
Mr Caufield-Lawrence added: “Whether it’s our fresh produce displays, our in-store bakery or dedicated M&S Wine Shop – we’ve got everything we need to deliver the very best of M&S Food for our customers in New Milton, with a bigger range of M&S products than ever before.”
As reported in the A&T, there had long been rumours among residents that M&S would be opening a store in New Milton before this was officially confirmed in November 2021.
The unit had previously been purchased in 2017 by Smith Bradbeer & Co, which operates one of its department stores on the opposite side of Station Road.
