A 33-year-old East Dorset man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and a 50-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

All five suspects were later released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A Dorset force spokesperson said: “The items are not believed to have been previously reported to the police as suspected stolen and enquiries will be carried out to establish the full circumstances.”

The spokesperson was unable to confirm the reports of armed officers’ involvement in the incident.

But they added armed officers also act as patrol officers and can attend all types of incidents.
