Christmas tree festival set for St Thomas's Church in Lymington

MORE than 60 Christmas trees will create a magical atmosphere in St Thomas’s Church in Lymington this year.

The festival will run from Friday 2nd December to Tuesday 6th December, organised as a fundraiser by the Friends of St Thomas.

The trees are sponsored and decorated by local charities, businesses and individuals and create a forest of Christmas cheer.

The church will also play host to a Christmas decoration sales table plus delicious refreshments – all donated by volunteers and supporters.

There will be musical entertainment from local choirs, morris dancers and instrumental groups throughout the five days of the festival.

This year there will be an added attraction – an artisan market is coming to the Church Hall on Saturday 3rd December with about 15 stallholders selling upmarket Christmas gifts for friends and family.

Items will include hand-bound books, prints, soy wax products, sweets, jewellery and personalised cards and baubles.

There has been a parish church at the heart of Lymington since 1250. The Friends of St Thomas’s Church is a registered charity whose purpose is to preserve the fabric of the church not only as a place of worship but as a centre for the arts with concerts, drama, talks, exhibitions and community celebrations.
