A flood alert has been issued for areas Christchurch this evening (Monday) and tomorrow morning.
The Environment Agency has said minor flooding to coastal roads and footpaths is likely between 7pm and 9.30pm today, and 7am to 10.15am tomorrow.
The spots most at risk include Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon rivers.
Weather conditions are expected to produce large onshore waves, and the next high tide will likely be higher than normal and may see a further alert.
EA staff have been shutting flood gates and checking defences as they warn of the dangers of large waves and sea spray, adding drivers should plan their routes.
