Flood alerts for Beaulieu, Christchurch Harbour, Eling, Marchwood and Hythe




FLOOD alerts have been issued around the New Forest and Christchurch today (Wednesday).

The tide this morning will be higher than usual due to unsettled weather and light westerly force-four winds.

In Beaulieu, the tide will flood into the garden of the Mill House on the downstream side of the Mill Pond, and minor road flooding at Palace Lane is also expected, affecting access to the village. This alert is in place from 10am to 12.15pm today, and there's a further warning for the high tide in the area tonight at 10.18pm.

Flood gates have been closed at Christchurch Harbour, with the tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon rivers also affected until 10.15am.

There will be minor impact flooding affecting the lower floor of Eling Tide Mill, with road and car park flooding possible on Magazine Lane at Marchwood and Shore Road in Hythe. This is due from 10am to 12.15pm, with a further alert for the high tide tonight at 10.18pm.
