Ground staff volunteers at Bashley FC give lifesaving CPR to colleague Peter Burr after he suffers suspected heart attack

One of Bashley FC’s “most loyal” volunteer ground staff suffered a suspected heart attack at the team’s match on last night (Tuesday) against Thatcham Town.

Peter Burr collapsed and hit his head as he fell backwards. He was knocked unconscious, and colleagues Brian Eady, Brian Grogan, Dennis Dyson and Norman Luffman leapt into action giving him lifesaving first aid.

Mr Luffman gave Peter CPR until paramedics reached Veho stadium. A club spokesperson said: “Ambulance staff said but for Norman successfully applying CPR, the outcome could have been very different.

“Everyone at Bashley FC is wishing Peter a speedy recovery.”

The drama came just 10 days after Bashley FC received the devastating news that footballer Jordan Chiedozie had been badly injured in a car accident on the M27.

Jordan, who has suffered life-changing injuries, remains in a coma in hospital. A Gofundme page has now raised over £26,000.
