Football club offers reward after floodlights 'shot out' causing £2,000 damage
AN ONLINE fundraiser has been set up and a reward offered after a vandal ‘shot out’ three floodlights at a football stadium.
Totton and Eling FC is urging anyone with any information to get in touch with the police after the incident at its Salisbury Road ground, which is thought to have happened sometime between 13th and 15th May.
A club spokesperson said on Facebook: “Just to let people know we have had three floodlights shot out by some mindless idiot.
“We have reported this to the police. It will cost the club in excess of £2,000 and there will be a reward for the person giving us information to catch this individual.”
A statement on the Crowdfunder website, which was set up by one of the club’s supporters, added: “Covid-19 and vandalism at the club has created a very uncertain future [and] we need to secure the future of our club.”
