Matthew Stevens of Cadnam ordered to pay compensation for stealing bag

STEALING a man’s bag, which had documents among its contents, cost a Cadnam man £200 when he appeared before magistrates.

Matthew Stevens (23), of Southampton Road, admitted committing the theft, of an unknown value, at Dorset between 17th and 23rd March 2023.

The Bench sitting at Poole Magistrates’ Court told him to pay £200 in compensation, but no order for court costs was made.

A charge of handling stolen goods, relating to the same bag and contents between 17th and 27th March 2023, was withdrawn.
