Churchill builders wins top prize at the Whathouse? Awards for being the ‘Best Retirement Home Developer’ in the country.




A NEW Forest-based builder has been given a top prize at the ‘Oscars’ of the UK house building industry for being the ‘Best Retirement Home Developer’ in the country.

It was given a gold medal at the national WhatHouse? Awards 2023 held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Churchill Retirement Living, which has an HQ in Ringwood, was recognised for being the best developer serving the retirement home sector.

The judges praised Churchill for providing “so much more than simply the delivery of retirement homes”.

They also said that Churchill were: “A voice vital to the overall health of the housing market, especially in the face of overwhelming demographics that shout how critical it is to provide homes for later living, with the added value of taking the strain of health and social care services.”

Spencer J McCarthy, chair and CEO of Churchill Retirement Living, said: “I’m incredibly proud to achieve this accolade which reflects the strength of our business, the quality of our product and the positive change we strive for on behalf of our sector.

“It’s also a credit to our fantastic team for the hard work that goes in throughout the year to help achieve this success.”

Churchill builds retirement living for over-60s and has a portfolio of over 200 developments located throughout the country.

A family-run company with multiple awards, it has achieved the maximum five-star rating in a HBF customer satisfaction survey eight years in a row.

The firm was also named in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023 where it ranked in the Top 10 Big Organisations to Work For.
