A NEW £4m building in Ringwood that will be the headquarters of the dedicated property management arm of a leading retirement homes developer has been officially opened.

New Forest West MP Sir Desmond Swayne cut the ribbon at McCarthy House, which will house staff of Millstream Management Services (MMS).

MMS is owned by Churchill Retirement Living and manages all its developments.

Churchill group’s co-founders, brothers Spencer and Clinton McCarthy, were also joined by their father John for the celebration.

Spencer, chairman and CEO of Churchill Retirement Group, said: “We have ambitious growth plans for the future, so it’s vital that we have the people and the space in place to deliver further success.

Clinton, Churchill managing director, said: “Millstream’s move to this impressive new head office is a clear sign of progress and a testament to the whole team’s hard work and commitment in putting customers at the heart of everything we do.”

Sir Desmond said: “Retirement properties are a crucial part of meeting the UK’s housing challenge, and the work MMS does to ensure the smooth running of these properties helps make life better for many thousands of older people.

“The impressive new McCarthy House building will also enable further jobs and opportunities to be created in the Ringwood area, providing a valuable boost to our local economy.”

The new building provides 19,500sqft of modern floor space and its name reflects the McCarthy family’s strong heritage in the retirement and management sectors.

John pioneered the industry back in the 1970s and 80s with McCarthy & Stone, while Spencer and Clinton have built up Churchill since founding the company over 20 years ago.

It has 160 developments throughout the UK, has won numerous awards, received the maximum five-star rating in the independent HBF customer satisfaction survey four times in a row, and was ranked second in The Sunday Times 2019 100 Best Companies to Work For.

MMS is a multi-award winning manager of leasehold retirement properties and an independent arm of the Churchill Retirement Group. It employs 234 people in total.
