Rail passengers face delays as South Western Railway suspends services between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier
RAIL passengers in the New Forest are being warned to expect delays this morning (Tuesday) due to staff shortages.
South Western Railway suspended services between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier from 9.40am, and normal service is expected to resume after 11.15am.
A spokesperson said: “Due to a shortage of train crew between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier fewer trains are able to run.
“We have a rail replacement bus confirmed to shuttle between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier calling at Lymington Town starting from Brockenhurst at 10am and running until 11.15am.
“For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
Passengers can also use their train ticket at no extra cost on the following services between 9.30am and 11.15am: Bluestar 6 between Brockenhurst and Lymington; Morebus X1 and X2 between Lymington/New Milton/Christchurch/Bournemouth; Morebus 120 between New Milton/Sway/Lymington and Morebus 119 between New Milton and Lymington.
