Mary Montagu-Scott presented with inaugural International Women’s Day Beaulieu Village Community Award

A NEW Beaulieu community award has been presented to Mary Montagu-Scott to mark International Women’s Day.

The annual accolade, which is awarded to a local woman who goes the extra mile to support village life, has been founded by the Beaulieu Village Hall team.

Presenting the inaugural award, village hall chair Tony Bishop-Weston said: “Although Mary’s accolades and achievements are numerous, like Mary’s grandmother Pearl Pleydell-Bouverie, former Lady Montagu of Beaulieu, there is far more behind the scenes that sometimes goes unappreciated.

“We hope this first ever International Women’s Day Beaulieu Village Community Award goes some way in helping that appreciation of women in our community to be more ubiquitous in years to come.”

Mary Montagu-Scott said: “The award came as a complete surprise and I am really honoured to be the first recipient of this. I love all the things I do in the Beaulieu community and the many brilliant people I work with, it’s all a team effort.”
