Former caravan owner at Shorefield Country Park at Milford on Sea blasts company after theft

A FORMER caravan owner at a popular Milford holiday park has blasted the company after items were allegedly stolen from her unoccupied mobile home.

Liz Girling had owned the holiday home at Shorefield Country Park for five years until 2022, when she decided to sell it back to the company.

Liz, from Andover, said she agreed to hand the keys back on 12th March, but after arriving at the site on 4th March having hired a removals van she said she found her television, kettle, toaster and microvave were missing.

The last time the family had been to the site was October 2022, and on their departure had covered the furniture with dust sheets.

Liz told the A&T: “I noticed they were not there. I then saw the TV was missing and went into the kitchen – there was no kettle, toaster or microwave.

“I saw stuff left on the floor and cupboards open in the bedrooms.”

After speaking with the sales team, enquiries were made to see if the mobile home keys had been signed out at any point. Checks revealed they had not.

She added: “I went back to my caravan to pack what I had left and rang the police.

“I contacted my insurance company, which won't pay out as there was no forced entry or exit.”

She says she was left “extremely upset” after a member of staff dealing with the theft was “very unprofessional and rude” towards her.

“I feel very let down by the lack of care, and more so the lack of security measures in place.

“All I really want is them to admit that they are liable. A supposed family-run holiday park treating their customers like this is unforgivable.”

A Hampshire police spokesperson told the A&T it had received a report on 4th March that there had been a burglary at the caravan at some point between 13th October 2022 and 4th March 2023.

It added: “Following an initial investigation this has been filed pending any further or new information, at which point the case may be reopened.”

Those with information should call 101 quoting incident number 44230088550.

A spokesperson for Shorefield Holiday Park told the A&T it was unable to comment as it was reviewing the case with the customer.
