Charlie Redmond-Smith, Harry Redmond-Smith, John Redmond and John Smith charged in connection with disturbance and assault in Somerford Road, Christchurch




FOUR men are due to appear in court after an alleged assault in Christchurch nine months ago that left a man needing hospital treatment.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance at an address in Somerford Road just after midday on Wednesday 3rd February, when a man in his 20s was said to have been attacked.

The casualty was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as four men were arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers have now charged Charlie Redmond-Smith and Harry Redmond-Smith, both 22 and from Bournemouth, with violent disorder, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.

John Redmond (48) and John Smith (50), both from Bournemouth, have been charged with violent disorder. All four defendants are due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on 21st January 2022.

A 43-year-old Bournemouth woman previously arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent has been released with no further action.

A 71-year-old man, also from Bournemouth, who was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder remains released under investigation.
