Fundraising Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show returns this weekend

A popular three-day steam show which last year raised its highest ever amount for charity returns to the New Forest next weekend.

The Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show, which takes place from 21st July at Meadmead Farm, was first held in 1971.

Since then it has raised thousands of pounds for local good causes, with more than £34,000 handed out in 2022 – the highest ever amount.

Organisers say following feedback from visitors and exhibitors, this year there will be an arena specially dedicated to steam engines.

With more than 50 in attendance, the steam engines will be running throughout the day in the dedicated arena for the first time in many years.

There will also be a bygone working steam area, which demonstrates how the engines were used to cut wood and crush stones in times past.

Other attractions include performances from the Tigers Motorcycle Display Team and displays by South Wilts Falconry, as well as vintage cars, tractors and motorcycles.

There will also be a craft tent, food hall and refreshments, as well as live music in the evenings from ABBA and Queen tribute bands, in addition to local groups.

Free parking is available nearby and dogs on leads are welcome.

Tickets cost £13 for adults and £8 for senior citizens, while entry for children aged six to 16 is £7.
