Gold medallist Rose sponsors Brokenhurst Manor event
FORMER world number one golfer Justin Rose and his wife Kate will sponsor Brokenhurst Golf Club’s women’s golf competition which will be held on 18th June.
The tournament will host the reopening of professional UK women’s sport since the coronavirus lockdown. Brokenhurst Manor’s event will be the first in a seven-event competition named the Rose Ladies Series.
Rose, who won gold at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and won the 2013 US Open, tweeted: “Kate and I are excited to host the Rose Ladies Series – over multiple great courses this summer in England.”
The Roses have reportedly committed £35,000 prize money into the series. All seven British courses have also donated their facilities at no cost.
The club will host a one-day tournament which will include stars such as 2018 Women’s British Open champion Georgia Hall.
The competition, which was created by Ladies European Tour golfer Liz Young and Brokenhurst Manor head professional, Jason MacNiven will take place behind closed doors.
