Driver badly hurt after car rolls on the A337 Milford Road at Everton
A MOTORIST was badly hurt when a car rolled on the A337 at Everton early this morning (Tuesday), causing rush-hour gridlock around the village, Milford and Pennington.
Emergency crews responded just after 5.30am amid reports a Honda Jazz had careered off Milford Road and landed on its side.
The driver, a woman in her 30s, was released from the vehicle by Lymington firefighters in an operation that took just over an hour, before being handed over to South Central Ambulance Service paramedics.
A Hampshire police spokesperson said she had suffered serious injuries.
The A337 was closed between Newbridge Drive and Milford Road while the incident was dealt with, and traffic was diverted down Wainsford Road, which was also reportedly gridlocked as a result.
The closure was lifted around 9.15am.
Buses to Arnewood and Priestlands schools were delayed, and parents were informed.
