Haul of medals for New Forest club at British Karate Championships
THE New Forest-based South England Karate Federation (SEKF) won five medals at the British karate championships over the weekend.
After a tough pre-training program, under senseis Collin Rudkin sixth dan and Danny Rudkin fifth dan, six students travelled to Leicester to take part in this prestigious Four Nations championships.
SEKF pairs kata team consisting of Ethan Stonton and Adam Barnes won gold to become British champions in the under-14 team pairs.
After five tough rounds, twelve-year-old, Carla Rudkin-Guillen, won silver in the female -14 yrs Kata while Ethan Stonton also won bronze in the male -14 yrs Kata.
Eleven-year-old Finley Burn won bronze in the -12 yrs Kata and James Arnold also won bronze in the Cadet Kumite section. Harrison West also participated in the event and performed well, narrowly missing out a medal.
SEKF students Carla Rudkin-Guillen and James Arnold will compete in the World Championships in Croatia next month.
