Headshave by staff member at Carlton House rest home will be highlight of week’s worth of fundraising for Children in Need




A WEEK’S worth of fundraising events with a head shave the “highlight” is being carried out by staff at a New Milton rest home.

Suzanne Neale who managed to “fight back” and beat cancer has volunteered to have her blonde locks shorn off for a good cause.

A spokesperson for Carlton House said: “Suzanne is fighting fit and has a gorgeous head of hair but she has decided to give something back, so she has offered to have her hair shaved off for charity.

The seven day fundraising extravaganza at Carlton House, in Barton Court Road, is for the BBC’ Children in Need Appeal. It starts on Monday 13th November with a ‘Stars in their Eyes’ competition where entrants will be impersonating their favourite singers.

Tuesday sees them undertake a cycle-a-thon followed on Wednesday by a pyjama day and eating challenge.

On Thursday Suzanne will undergo the scissors and razor at 2pm. There will also be a cake sale and Pudsey tea party.

Friday will see staff take part in a duck race, spotty clothes day’, ice bucket challenge and ‘Tara’s connect 4-a-thon’.

The public are welcome to pop into the home on Thursday to watch Suzanne’s haircut and join in the tea party afterwards.

They are also welcome on other days during the week to “help out or join in” with most events starting at 1pm apart from the cycle-a-thon which will last all day.
