Home care provider Agincare in Rumbridge Street, Totton, rated ‘good’ by Care Quality Commission

A HOME care service which provides support to residents in parts of the New Forest has been given a ‘good’ rating by inspectors.

Agincare, which is based at Rumbridge Street in Totton, was recently visited by the Care Quality Commission.

The service, which provides care for 29 older people living in their own homes, ensured people received consistent care, from regular staff at agreed times, a report said.

It explained: “People’s care reflected their needs and people were consulted around how they wished their care to be delivered. Staff cared for people with dignity and respect.

“People were given sufficient time during care calls to maintain their independence [and] were treated with kindness and compassion.

“Staff were positive about their role and had a good understanding of people’s needs. Staff understood and managed risks related to people’s care, which helped keep them safe.

“Safe systems were in place to ensure medicines were administered appropriately where required [and] staff worked with stakeholders involved in people’s care to promote the best outcomes and safe transitions when people moved between services.”

Staff had experienced some “communication issues” with senior staff, the report added, but the registered manager was aware and putting in measures to address it.

Customers and their relatives were happy with their care, with one calling it “excellent”.

Office staff were also praised for their professional and helpful manner.
