Inquest opened into death of Maureen West (90) in fire at her home on Kivernell Road in Milford over six months ago




AN elderly woman who died in a fire at her Milford home more than six months ago has been officially identified.

Maureen West (90) passed away at the Kivernell Road address on 27th November 2024, and an inquest was opened at Winchester Coroners’ Court on Tuesday.

The hearing was told a post-mortem examination established excessive burns as the cause of death.

As reported in the A&T, firefighters responded to the blaze shortly after 9pm, and discovered the pensioner’s body when they entered the house. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Adjourned, a full inquest is provisionally set to take place on 14th April 2026.
