Large insulation flytip in New Forest, off A35, sparks NFDC investigation
A PROBE has been launched into a large amount of insulation and other waste found dumped in the New Forest.
New Forest District Council has appealed for information about the flytip, which happened on land off the A35.
Sharing images online, NFDC said: “We have cleared this and our enforcement team are investigating.”
Dozens took to the comments to express their frustration at the offence, with some saying the waste appeared to be spray foam from a loft.
There were also calls for CCTV cameras to be installed at flytipping hot spots.
Giving his reaction online, Lib Dem councillor for Totton and Marchwood David Harrison wrote: “Would be really good if somebody recognises where this waste has come from and who is responsible for dumping it.
“It is a terrible way to treat a national park. Offenders should be prosecuted.”
NFDC reminded householders having waste removed to check the company is a licensed waste carrier on the authority’s website.
Those with information on the flytip should phone 023 8028 5885 or email enforcement@nfdc.gov.uk
