Hunt for witnesses after pedestrian killed in lorry collision on M27
POLICE are hunting for witnesses after a pedestrian was killed in a collision with a lorry on the M27 early on Good Friday morning.
Paramedics and police responded to reports a woman had been struck by the vehicle around 4.20am on the westbound carriageway between junctions three (Rownhams) and two (Ower).
The 40-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, and a Hampshire police spokesperson said her next of kin was being supported by specialist officers.
The lorry driver was uninjured.
Officers closed the section of motorway for several hours as investigations were launched.
Witnesses are being sought as investigations into the collision continue. These include any motorists who were driving along the stretch of the M27 around the time it took place and those who saw anything or have dash cam footage.
