FA Cup: Hythe & Dibden 2-4 Kidlington

HYTHE & Dibden stumbled out of the FA Cup in the first round after a 4-2 loss to Kidlington at the Hythe Garage Stadium.

Kidlington, who play in the Bet Victor Southern League, made the long trip down to Hythe & Dibden from Oxfordshire and almost went ahead on 12 minutes when Kaylam Patterson put the ball in the back of the net before he was deemed offside.

However, the visitors scored twice in quick succession eight minutes later when Leam Howards and Lewis Coyle put themselves on the scoresheet.

However, Hythe responded with a goal of their own through Cain Prentice who fired home from 10 yards out.

The visitors restored their two-goal advantage just before half-time through Daniel West who converted from a whipped cross.

With Hythe chasing the game in the second half, Kidlington began to take control. On 50 minutes, Kidlington all but booked their place in the next round as forward Anaclet Odhiambo added a fourth to give the visitors an unassailable lead.

Fillipos Terzidis gave Hythe their second of the game with a strike from outside the box, but this proved to be a consolation as Kidlington ran out comfortable winners and sealed a tie in the next round of the FA Cup.
