New Milton tailor Letizia Beneduce of Classy Tailoring House wins South England Prestige Awards for Bespoke and Tailoring Services of the Year”
A NEW Milton tailor says she is “absolutely thrilled” after being given a top award for her skills in making clothes.
Letizia Beneduce of the Classy Tailoring House learnt her craft in her native Italy before moving to England eight years ago so her son could study at Brockenhurst college.
Born in Naples, she worked in Rome before leaving for the UK where she joined a luxury tailoring shop in Bournemouth. But it had always been her dream to open her own business.
Letizia who was given the title South England Prestige Awards for Bespoke and Tailoring Services of the Year said: “It was always what I really wanted to do. After Covid and the lockdown, I decided to take the plunge and open my studio in New Milton’s Station Road.
“It has done so well, I have customers from Portsmouth, Hythe and Bournemouth who travel to me. I do everything from a complete bespoke suit to made-to-measure to just altering something.
“I absolutely love what I do, I always have but to be recognised for it is just something so special.”
Letizia was nominated for the award by a customer. She said: “I was do delighted that my wonderful customers think so much of me. They have given me such wonderful reviews which led to me winning the award. I cannot thank them enough.
“I am so happy I just feel like standing in New Milton high street and shouting ‘Thank you!’.”
Letizia said she “never expected” to win: “When they told me I was so excited.
“I have such a great love for my job, I think the judges realised that. I work very hard, but my customers are my priority and I just love it when they are pleased with what I do.”
Letizia offers a full range of services at her business including creating “fairytale” wedding dresses, suits cut and stitched by hand, remodelling of old classics to give them “new life” and repairs.
