Ice warning for New Forest and Christchurch




THE gritters are out this evening (Wednesday) in the wake of a yellow alert for ice over Christchurch and the New Forest tomorrow morning.

The Met office is warning that icy stretches are "likely to develop" and expects "some injuries from slips and falls" as a result.

There will also be ice on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, and travel times will likely be affected.

The county council has said Hampshire Highways' fleet of salting lorries will be on the roads tonight in preparation for the conditions.

The warning is in place from midnight to 10am tomorrow.
